Legion I Minervia is a non-profit group whose mission is to evangelize the history of ancient Rome through educational presentations, living history and experimental archeology. The association was founded in 2013 by a group of experienced, dedicated reenactors whose desire it was to educate, entertain and improve the quality of historical reenactment enjoyably through events-both public and private.

We began with a core group of six dedicated members and have since grown to a membership that boasts 16 people of diverse talents and skillsets that come from near and far-from Roma and her environs to other regions in Italy and even internationally.

Our personas, equipment and camp footprint are all based in the historical, archaeological and epigraphical records; we make every effort to source and utilize materials of our time period and harness the technology to bring the ancient world to life once more! Just as we continually strive to educate the public, we are tireless in our research and experimentation to narrow the gap between yesterday and today.

We have had a training camp site near the archaeological site of Alba Fucens in Abruzzo since 2015 where we often spend weekends immersed in the life of a Roman legionary in the 2nd Century A.D. This has prepared us to be expert historical consultants for film and television projects and moderators on many historical forums.

We are also always available to bring a "hands on history" approach to the classroom in which elementary and middle school students participate in interactive activities designed to supplement traditional teaching methods.
